Crazy Pet Animated TV Pilot Makes Debut &
Places 2nd
At
East Lansing Children's Film Festival
Crazy
Pet made its movie debut Saturday, February 25th at the world renowned East
Lansing Children's Film Festival held at Michigan State University.
Crazy
Dog and the other delightfully original Crazy Pet characters are stars in
the animated feature The Mystery of
the Vanishing River, which premiered at the prestigious film festival
among competitors from around the globe. An animated adventure story, it
chronicles the Crazy Pets' efforts to solve the mystery of what has happened
to their water supply from the nearby river.
Produced
by Triple Take Productions of La Jolla, California, the animated feature
drew a wildly enthusiastic response from the young audience that crowded the
auditorium at Michigan State. Youngsters and critics alike were captivated
by the film's clever dialogue, colorful graphics and creative action-packed
storyline.
The
Mystery of the Vanishing River
came in a close second to Dot, a
short film based on a popular children's book, the winner of the
competition. This was no small accomplishment, considering that the festival
drew entries from all over the world, including works from Sesame Street
Workshop and Nickelodeon Jr.
"We're
extremely proud of the reception that The
Mystery of the Vanishing River received at this important
festival," said Tony DeVos, president of the Crazy Pet Company.
"The Crazy Pet Characters and their message of ‘characters building
character’ make a strong emotional connection to kids of all ages."
The
movie is now available on a unique animated family interactive DVD along
with six PC games, animal facts, pet jokes, animal trivia, pet care
education and a special “behind the scenes” video that shows how the
animation for the pilot is done. The disc itself is unique in that it can be
used in both a DVD player and a personal computer, instead of requiring two
separate discs, allowing for a higher degree of interaction in the game
segments.
