CraZy
Pet Websites Switch To Solar Energy
The
Crazy Pet Co. has switched to solar power to drive its two websites
– www.crazypet.com and www.crazydog.com
--
as an alternative to conventional electricity.
This will allow the sites to stay on-line more reliably and will
also contribute to a cleaner environment.
Under
the new system, high-density
solar panels are used to convert sunlight to electricity.
The solar-generated energy functions as a total power source
for the websites’ servers and host. The system includes failsafe
high-end UPS systems, which store excess power to ensure the
websites stay on-line “24/7” with no interruption during times
of technical difficulty.
“Last
winter, California learned that long-term electrical power loss from
the electric company was a real possibility said Barbara Denzer,
vice president of The CraZy Pet Co. "By switching to solar power, we
are guaranteeing maximum uptime for our websites, and improving the
level of service to our licensees and customers.”
Additionally,
because the solar powered websites no longer utilize the services
of electrical plants, which produce carbon dioxide, they are helping to reduce air pollution.
