The Crazy Kids Guide To Cooking For Your Pet                          Wins Top USA Book News Award

Pet Cookbook Named Best Children’s Non-Fiction Book Of 2004

The Crazy Kids Guide to Cooking For Your Pet has racked up another accolade -- the prestigious USA Book News "Best Books 2004" award in the Children's Non-Fiction category.

A comprehensive guide to recently published books, USA Book News covers titles from both the mainstream and independent press.  It prides itself on looking beyond the best-seller lists to find outstanding books in all categories.

Authored by Barbara and Missy Denzer and illustrated by Manny Rodriguez, the cookbook features easy-to-follow recipes that children can make for their dogs and cats, along with jokes, games, colorful cartoons, and fun things for kids and pets to do together. It also teaches children important character-building lessons like “sharing” and “responsibility,” by showing them how to enjoy caring for their pets.

"We are truly honored and delighted to win this highly esteemed national award," said Barbara Denzer. "I think the judges at USA Book News liked the fact that that the book so original and colorfully illustrated, and that it delivers a deeper underlying message in a fun way – one that touches on core values.”

The USA Book News award is the latest in a series of honors racked up by The Crazy Kids Guide to Cooking For Your Pet.  The book was nominated for a Book of the Year Award by ForeWord magazine, and was featured on the cover of Publisher's Weekly.  It has received rave reviews in dozens of newspapers across the country – from the Detroit Free Press to the St. Petersburg Times – and its authors have been interviewed on major TV and radio stations, including KTLA-TV in Los Angeles and KARE-TV in Minneapolis.
